Undergraduate Advisor for the Department of Black Studies and the Department of Feminist Studies

Makaela is a recent UCSB Alum with a B.A. in Black Studies and a B.A. in Sociology. As the Undergraduate Advisor for the Black Studies and Feminist Studies departments, she supports students in navigating their academic journey, from course planning and degree requirements to connecting with campus resources and opportunities beyond the classroom. Having just graduated in Spring 2026 and previously working in the department of Black Studies as a lead Student Assistant, Makaela brings a genuine understanding of what it means to build a meaningful, interdisciplinary education rooted in critical inquiry and community. She's excited to work closely with majors and minors in both departments to help them make the most of their time at UCSB. Please feel free to stop by South Hall and chat/ask questions!
