The drop of Kendrick Lamar's sophomore album, To Pimp a Butterfly, has been met with much critical and street acclaim. This listening session is intended to explore the Compton emcee's lyricism inside the current events of Black rebellion and alongside the production of his peers. From this communal dialogue, we hope to begin creation of a more robust vocabulary for hip hop study and imagine the different futures that it might herald.
