This course surveys the major aesthetic, cultural and industrial developments in Afro-Diasporic Global cinema from 1960’s to present day! Through an intersectional lens, the course will address a discussion of key themes such as the representation of race, gender, queerness and sexuality, the roles of the state, the economy, film festivals and the artists in the construction of a transnational Black cinema.
